The location of this apartment was great! It has a beautiful view of the harbor and is an easy walk into town. The family room in this apartment was great for our family of 4 and the kitchen was well stocked (cooking essentials such as salt, pepper, oil, etc. pots/pans, utensils, french press, kettle). The owner also left us some snacks, a bottle of wine, milk, washing machine detergent and coffee which were nice touches. The apartment was warm upon our arrival, which was nice as it was cold outside during our stay. The wifi worked well for our purposes too. Check-in was very easy as we were able to get the keys through a lock-box rather than having to meet someone to hand us the keys.

This 3 bedroom apartment in Portree has spectacular views from almost every room as well as a romantic harbour setting. It is Decorated in a boutique retro style with an eclectic mix of furnishings accessories. Quayside apartment comes with a fully equipped bespoke wooden, hand-made kitchen, with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The large living room overlooking the harbour has a Smart TV with Netflix and high-speed broadband. Guests can stream music via the Alexa, amazon echo. Guests have access to a chest full of board games as well as a wood burning stove. The apartment was built around 1830, and stands on Portree’s Thomas Telford designed pier. It has a Victorian-style bathroom with slipper bath and wall mounted taps along with underfloor heating. One bedroom is en-suite and there is also a further wc with toilet and wash basin.

The centre of life in Portree has to be its harbour. This is in a superb natural setting, being surrounded by high ground and cliffs. The peninsula to the south is unflatteringly known as "The Lump", and once provided a spectacular setting for public hangings on the island. Today the harbour continues to be used by fishing boats, but is also home to other vessels, from pleasure craft to the lifeboat. Built around the harbour at harbourside level are a range of buildings which have featured in more than one calendar photograph down the years. The run of brightly painted buildings down the south-west side is especially striking; but for us, the natural stone and whitewashed buildings on the north-west side are even more attractive. The main town of Portree lies above and behind the harbour. The main focus is Somerled Square, home to the mercat cross and war memorial, some car parking, and most of the bus stops in the town. Much of the shopping is to be found in the roads leading from Somerled Square towards the harbour: and Wentworth Street offers a range of those "interesting but not essential" shops that make any visit worthwhile.
